Beforestarting rinsing, remember to empty the drip tray.• The appliance may request descaling cycles at very shortintervals. This is normal and due to the appliance’s ad-vanced control system.16. SETTING WATER HARDNESSThe descaling request is displayed after a period of timeestablished according to water hardness. The machine is set by default for a hardness level of 4. The ma-chine can also be programmed according to the hardness of themains water in the various regions so that the machine needs tobe descaled less often.10.1 Measuring water hardness1. Remove the “TOTAL HARDNESS TEST” indicator paper (C1)from its pack (attached to the English instructions);2. Immerse the paper completely in a glass of water for onesecond;3. Remove the paper from the water and shake lightly. Afterabout a minute, 1, 2, 3, or 4 red squares form, dependingon the hardness of the water. Each square corresponds to 1level;352 lBAA B34
