Thank you for choosing to purchase a De’Longhi fire. Please read theinstructions carefully in order to enjoy your product fully.GENERAL INSTRUCTIONSRemove the fire from the packaging, checking that neither the fire nor thepower cable has been damaged during transport. Do not operate the fire ifdamaged.The pebbles can be found in one of the two long brown boxes that fit downeither side of the fire, so ensure that the accessories are removed beforediscarding the boxes.INSTALLATION OF THE FIREYour fire is designed for use against a flat wall surface, and a spacer frameis supplied to enable it to fit flush. Alternatively you can use within anexisting chimney or as part of a fireplace mantel and surround suite. Therebate depth is standard at 2 3/4 inches (7cm) which should fit perfectly.Position the fire so that the plug socket is accessible.IMPORTANT: Access must be allowed for the fire to be serviced,which involves the heater being moved forward in order to accessthe rear. Sufficient mains lead must be available to allow the fire tobe moved for access when servicing.Should you wish to connect the fire to a fused spur, this must be carriedout by a competent electrician in accordance with the IEE wiringregulations.Where the inset fire is being used in an existing chimney, it is importantthat the chimney is blocked off to prevent airflow problems within the fire.Where a chimney is not blocked off sufficiently the heater may cut out andthe flame effect stop, or work poorly.ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (UK Only)Your appliance comes fitted with a plug and will incorporate a 13 amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket,the plug should be cut off from the mains lead and an appropriate one fitted as below.WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13 ampsocket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard. With alternative plugs not incorporatinga fuse the circuit must be protected by a 15 amp fuse.If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be refitted when changing the fuse using a 13ampAstra approved fuse to BS1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must not be used until areplacement fuse cover can be obtained from your nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correctreplacement fuse cover is that marked on the base of the plug.WARNING- THIS APPLIANCE MUST BEEARTHEDIMPORTANTThe wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordancewith the following code;As the colours of the wires in the mains lead maynot correspond with the coloured markingsidentifying the terminals in your plug, proceed asfollows:The green and yellow wire must be connected tothe terminal in the plug marked with the letter E orthe earth symbol or coloured green or greenand yellow.The blue wire must be connected to the terminalmarked with the letter N or coloured black.The brown wire must be connected to the terminalmarked with the letter L or coloured red.Green and yellow: EARTHBlue: NEUTRALBrown: LIVE |
