32TroubleshootingTROUBLESHOOTINGIf something is not working, the problem may at times be simple to resolve.Carefully check these brief instructions before contact your local Authorised Service Centre.PROBLEM CAUSE REMEDYThe air-conditionerdoesn’t work• no electricity• it is not plugged into the mains• the timer is set incorrectly• wait• plug into the mains• set the timer correctlyInsufficient cooling • air filter dirty• room too hot• temperature set incorrectly• the air intake/outlet grilles are blocked• clean the air filter• wait for it to cool down• set the temperature correctly• clean the grilles• clean the air filterParticular odour inthe room• air filter dirtyWater leaks fromthe indoor unit ofthe air-conditioner• incorrect installation of the appliance• pump malfunction• See page 22 to install theappliance correctly• unplug the appliance andcontact the service centreThe remote controlindicator is weak orinexistent• flat batteries• batteries inserted the wrong way round• change the batteries• check the polarity of the bat-teries (+) and (-)The air conditioningunit does not opera-te for about threeminutes after turningit on• the safety device has tripped • wait for three minutesThe compressorswitches on and offperiodically• the air-conditioner is working in dehumi-difying mode• the antifreeze safety device has trippedThe three indicatorlights flash • operating anomaly • unplug the appliance, wait afew minutes and then turn theappliance on again. If the pro-blem persists, contact the ser-vice centre.SERVICEIf following these checks the malfunction remains, contact your nearest authorised service cen-tre, specifying the model of the appliance and the type of defect.Transport, filling, cleaning, recovery and disposal of refrigerant should be performed by a tech-nical service centre appointed by the manufacturer only.The appliance should be disposed of by a specialist centre appointed by the manufacturer only.
