These are connected via the75Ω BNC connectors labelled ‘VID1’ to ‘VID 4’. Connect cameras tothe video inputs starting from VID 1.The unit supports a main monitorconnection via the BNC port labelled‘MON A’ or the ‘VGA’ port.The unit supports one channel ofbi-directional audio. Connect theaudio equipment to the phonosockets labelled AUDIO IN andAUDIO OUT.The unit supports external USB storage for video images, to add external storagerefer to the External Storage Guide.Connect the 12v DC power adaptor(supplied) to the unit and then toa wall socket, or to a fused spurconnection. To be compliant withwiring regulations in some countries,an Alarm/Security device shouldbe connected to a fused spur andnot a wall outlet socket (check localregulations before installation).The following Quick Start Guide will help you through the initial installation,configuration and operation of the Eco4 DVR.Use this document in conjunction with the Installation & Operation Guide. This islocated on the Product CD supplied with the unit and can also be found on theDedicated Micros website (dedicatedmicros.com).Check the contents of the boxRemove the packaging and check all items listed below are present.• Eco4 DVR• USB Mouse• Power Leads / Power Adaptor• Eco 4 Software/Documentation CD• Quick Start Guide• External Storage Setup GuideIf any of these items are missing; please contact the Dedicated Micros CustomerService team on +44 (0) 845 600 9501The unit supports four normally open/closed alarm inputs, or one Globalkeyswitch.The unit supports up to two 24V200mA relays.All alarm/relay connections are madevia the 15 way (female) D Type 24V200mA connector labelled‘Alarms/Relays’.The unit supports a 10/100Mbpsauto-detecting network port. Use aCAT5 cable to connect the unit to thenetwork port labelled ‘NET’.Accessing The Configuration/Viewer MenusThe unit can be configured either on the local monitor or over a network connectionusing a PC with web browser.Accessing the Configuration menus on a local monitorConnect the USB mouse to the unit, Images from camera input 1 will be displayedon the local monitor. Move the cursor of the USB mouse to the bottom of thescreen. The colour bar will be displayed. Select ‘Next’ (Purple) untill the ‘Menu’(Blue) option is displayed. Selecting ‘Menu’ will display the Configurationmenu pages.Accessing the Configuration/Viewer menus via a PC web browserThe IP address of the unit is required to access the webpages. The DHCPassigned address can be identified via the System Settings->System pages. Usingthe local monitor, navigate to the System menu. The DHCP IP address will bedisplayed. A fixed IP address can be assigned via the Network menu.To access the unit via DNS, the default address will be: |
