Be sure the location chosen has a floorstrong enough to support the total weight of the cabinetand contents. Reinforce the floor as necessary to providefor maximum loading.The location should be selected so that power cords canbe connected without any extensions.For the most efficient operation, be sure to provide goodair circulation inside and outside the cabinet. Avoid hotcorners and locations near stoves and ovens.Inside CabinetDo not pack refrigerator so full that air cannot circu-late.Outside Cabinet4400 Series equipment door and drawer modelsThese cabinets have Delfield’s “front-breathing” design.They may be installed flush against a wall or built into acounter as required.The louver at the floor level must be kept completely clearof any obstructions. Proper operation of these modelsis dependent on air being able to flow freely through thefront louver. The louver at the back of the cabinet is notnecessary for proper operation, but any air flow throughit is beneficial.CAUTIONAny restriction of the proper air flow outlined above, totalor partial, will void the warranty on the cabinet.LevelingA level cabinet will perform better because the drainpan will drain properly, the drawers or doors will line upwith the frames and the cabinet will not be subject toundue strain.CAUTIONNever stand on the unit or its drawers! Doing so mayresult in bodily injury. They are not designed to hold theweight of a person and will collapse if misused in thismanner.StabilizingAll models are supplied standard on casters for yourconvenience, for ease of cleaning underneath and formobility.CAUTIONThe cabinet must be installed in a stable condition withthe front wheels locked. Locking the front casters afterinstallation is the owner’s and operator’s responsibility.PlumbingSelf-contained models are standard with a condensateevaporator. If, for some reason, a cabinet does not havea condensate evaporator, or the evaporator fails, thecabinets drain must have an outlet to an appropriatedrainage area or container.CAUTIONMoisture collecting from improper drainage can create aslippery surface on the floor and a hazard to employees.It is the owner’s and operator’s responsibility to providea container or outlet for drainage.Electrical ConnectionCAUTIONA 7’ (2.1 m) long grounded supply cord and three-pronged plug are provided with standard cabinets. Simplyplug into a three-pronged wall outlet for proper groundingof the cabinet to begin operation. Do not use an adapterto connect to a two-pronged outlet. The three-prongedoutlet provides a ground connection which must be usedto prevent a shock hazard.CAUTIONThe wall outlet must be checked by a qualified electricianto be sure a proper ground is present and that the outletprovides the correct voltage and required amperage tomatch the rating plate.Any power cord that is frayed or damaged should bereplaced. When disconnecting the cabinet from the powersource, do not pull on the cord. Firmly grip the plug andremove from outlet.
