IntroductionThe DX Storage Cluster Services Node (CSN) streamlines installation and configuration of both thenetwork services required to run a DX Storage cluster and the Dell software used to interface withit into a single integrated server. These release notes contain late-breaking information about DXStorage CSN 2.0.1.2. Changes in Release 2.0This release enhances and extends the previous major release of the CSN in the following ways:• The CSN now automatically configures all DX Storage nodes in multi-process mode with theoptimal number of processes for each node allocated at boot time. Please reference the 'AddingDX Storage Nodes' section of the Installation and Configuration Guide for additional details.• An option to choose a larger range for IP addresses on the internal/private network has beenadded to support environments with a large number of DX Storage nodes. Existing installationsmay take advantage of a larger network space by running the 'changeinternalnetwork' scriptdescribed in the Installation and Configuration Guide.• The CSN now includes a reset script that can be used to return a server to a clean state afterinstallation, configuration or upgrade issues. Please refer to the CSN-Reset section of theInstallation and Configuration Guide for complete details.• The CSN is now certified to install and run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5.• The CSN now supports upgrade from version 1.0 or 1.0.1.• The CSN will now check to see if log files need to be rotated hourly instead of daily to ensure filesdo not become too large within 24 hours.• The CSN now supports configuration of multiple subscriptions for a Replicator on the Replicatorconfiguration page of the Content Router tab on the CSN Console.• A defect that prevented setting the power saving mode for the DX Storage cluster via SNMP hasbeen resolved.1.3. Release 1.0 FeaturesThis release includes the following features:• The CSN provides installation and configuration of required network services to support a DXStorage cluster, including DHCP, PXE, TFTP, syslog, NTP and several others.• An integrated PXE network boot and configuration server is provided for DX Storage nodes thatare booted onto the CSN's internal network.• Content Router is integrated and pre-configured as part of the CSN bundle to support replicationbetween two or more DX Storage clusters.• The SCSP Proxy is integrated into CSN installation and configuration, providing a gateway forSCSP clients on the external network, including remote clusters using Content Router, to sendand receive SCSP requests to and from DX Storage nodes on the CSN's internal network.
