32Solving ProblemsIf you experience other memory problems —• Ensure that you are following the memoryinstallation guidelines (see the ServiceManual at support.dell.com/manuals).• Check if the memory module iscompatible with your computer. Yourcomputer supports DDR3 memory. Formore information about the type ofmemory supported by your computer, see“Specifications” on page 60.• Run Dell Diagnostics (see “DellDiagnostics” on page 39).• Reseat the memory modules (see theService Manual atsupport.dell.com/manuals) to ensurethat your computer is successfullycommunicating with the memory.• If the problem persists, contact Dell (see“Contacting Dell” on page 57).Lockups and SoftwareProblemsIf the computer does not start up — Ensurethat the power cable is firmly connected tothe computer and to the electrical outlet.If a program stops responding — End theprogram:1. Press simultaneously.2. Click Applications.3. Click the program that is no longerresponding.4. Click End Task.If a program crashes repeatedly — Checkthe software documentation. If necessary,uninstall and then reinstall the program.NOTE: Software usually includesinstallation instructions in itsdocumentation or on CD.
