TroubleshootingReal Time Clock (RTC) resetThe Real Time Clock (RTC) reset function allows you or the service technician to recover the recently launched model Dell Latitude andPrecision systems from select No POST/No Boot/No Power situations. You can initiate the RTC reset on the system from a power offstate only if it is connected to AC power. Press and hold the power button for 25 seconds. The system RTC reset occurs after you releasethe power button.NOTE: If AC power is disconnected from the system during the process or the power button is held longer than 40 seconds, theRTC reset process is aborted.The RTC reset will reset the BIOS to Defaults, un-provision Intel vPro and reset the system date and time. The following items areunaffected by the RTC reset:• Service Tag• Asset Tag• Ownership Tag• Admin Password• System Password• HDD Password• Key Databases• System LogsThe following items may or may not reset based on your custom BIOS setting selections:• The Boot List• Enable Legacy OROMs• Secure Boot Enable• Allow BIOS DowngradeEnhanced Pre-Boot System Assessment (ePSA)diagnosticsThe ePSA diagnostics (also known as system diagnostics) performs a complete check of your hardware. The ePSA is embedded with theBIOS and is launched by the BIOS internally. The embedded system diagnostics provides a set of options for particular devices or devicegroups allowing you to:• Run tests automatically or in an interactive mode• Repeat tests• Display or save test results• Run thorough tests to introduce additional test options to provide extra information about the failed device(s)• View status messages that inform you if tests are completed successfully• View error messages that inform you of problems encountered during testingCAUTION: Use the system diagnostics to test only your computer.
