Dell™ Latitude™ X200 Media Base User ’s Guide 9When Using Your Media BaseObserve the following safe-handling guidelines to prevent damage to yourmedia base:• When setting up the media base for work, place it on a level surface.• When traveling, do not check the media base as baggage. You can putyour media base through an X-ray security machine, but never put yourmedia base through a metal detector.• When traveling, do not place the media base in overhead storagecompartments where it could slide around. Do not drop your mediabase or subject it to other mechanical shocks.• Protect your media base from environmental hazards such as dirt,dust, food, liquids, temperature extremes, and overexposure tosunlight.• When you move your media base between environments with verydifferent temperature and/or humidity ranges, condensation may formon or within the media base. To avoid damaging the media base, allowsufficient time for the moisture to evaporate before using the mediabase.NOTICE: When taking the media base from low-temperature conditions intoa warmer environment or from high-temperature conditions into a coolerenvironment, allow the media base to acclimate to room temperature beforeturning on power.• When you disconnect a cable, pull on its connector or on its strain-relief loop, not on the cable itself. As you pull out the connector, keepit evenly aligned to avoid bending any connector pins. Also, before youconnect a cable make sure both connectors are correctly oriented andaligned.• If your media base gets wet or is damaged, follow the proceduresdescribed in “Solving Problems” in your computer User’s Guide.
