Installing System Components 432 Slide the SSD hard-drive carrier into the expansion hard-drive carrier untilthe SSD hard-drive is fully seated.3 Fit the t-shaped end of the expansion hard-drive carrier’s strap handle intothe notch and then twist to lock the strap handle. See the documentation supplied with the operatingsystem.NOTE: When combining SAS, SATA or SATA hard-drives in the sled, ensure thefollowing:• Only two drive types can be mixed per sled.• Hard-drives installed in a vertically aligned drive bay (i.e., drive bays 0, 1 ordrive bays 0, 1,2, 3) must be of same type.• Only SAS hard-drives are supported in a dual-cable SAS expanderconnection.1 Rotate the SSD hard-drive carrier’s strap handle to unlock it from thehard-drive carrier. See Figure 2-11.2 Flex the right-side rail to withdraw the mounting pins from the SSD hard-drive assembly and then gently pull the left-side rail down and away fromthe hard-drive assembly.3 Detach the metal shield from the SSD hard-drive.
