In the User Idle Timeout section, define a value in minutes for the network con-nection to timeout if a connection becomes inactive. If a connection to a remoteserver remains idle for more than five minutes, the SonicWALL closes the connec-tion. Without this timeout, Internet connections could stay open indefinitely, cre-ating potential security holes.8. To allow fragmented data packets over the connection, check the Allow Frag-mented Packets box.9. Click Update to add the rule to Current Network Access Rules list.Current Network Access Rules ListAll of your Network Access Rules are listed in the Current Network Access Rulestable. The rules are listed from most to least specific. The rules at the top of CurrentNetwork Access Rules list take precedence over rules at the bottom of the list.Edit a RuleTo edit a rule, click the Note Pad icon on the right side of the browser window. A newWeb browser window appears, displaying the current configuration of the rule. Makethe desired changes and click Update to update the rule. The modified rule isdisplayed in the list of Current Network Access Rules.Delete a RuleTo delete a rule, click the Trash Can icon at the right side of the browser window. Adialog box appears with the message “Do you want to remove this rule?”. Click OK.Once the SonicWALL has been updated, a message confirming the update is displayedat the bottom of the browser window.Enable/Disable a RuleTo disable a rule without permanently removing it, uncheck the Enable checkbox tothe right of the rule. To enable a disabled rule, check the Enable checkbox. Theconfiguration is updated automatically, and a message confirming the update isdisplayed at the bottom of the browser window.Restore the Default Network Access RulesIf the SonicWALL Network Access Rules have been modified or deleted, you canrestore the Default Rules. The Default Rules prevent malicious intrusions andattacks, block all inbound IP traffic and allow all outbound IP traffic. Click RestoreRules to Defaults to reset the Network Access Rules.
