If Device DriverRollback does not resolve the problem, thenuse System Restore to return your operatingsystem to the operating state it was in beforeyou installed the new device driver. See “UsingMicrosoft Windows System Restore” onpage 33.NOTICE: Before performing the installation,back up all data files on your primaryhard drive. For conventional hard driveconfigurations, the primary hard drive is thefirst drive detected by the computer.To reinstall Windows, you need the followingitems:Dell Operating System• mediaDell Drivers and Utilities• mediaNOTE: TheDell Drivers and Utilities mediacontains drivers that were installed duringthe assembly of the computer. Use theDell Drivers and Utilities media to load anyrequired drivers. Depending on the regionfrom which you ordered your computer, orwhether you requested the media, theDellDrivers and Utilities media andOperatingSystem media may not ship with yourcomputer.Reinstalling Windows VistaThe reinstallation process can take 1 to 2 hoursto complete.
