NAMES AND FUNCTIONSBelow is a description of the functions of the controls listed on Pages 4 and 5.(1) DN-2500F (Main Unit) Front PanelWhen the POWER switch is pressed, the power turns onand the POWER indicator lights.Disc HoldersPlace the discs in these holders. Press the OPEN/-CLOSE buttons to open and close the disc holders.OPEN/ CLOSE ButtonsPress these to open and close the disc holders. The con-trol unit also includes OPEN/CLOSE buttons. The discholders cannot be opened during playback, so playbackmust be stopped before pressing these buttons.(2) RC-44 (Control Unit) Front PanelThese liquid crystal displays (LCDs) indicate the currenttrack numbers, minutes, seconds, frames and memorylocation numbers.TIME ButtonsThese buttons switch the time display between elapsedti me and remaining time. The selected mode is indicatedby the ELAPSED and REMAIN indicators on the LCD.OPEN/ CLOSE ButtonsPress these to open and close the disc holders. The mainunit also includes OPEN/CLOSE buttons. The disc hold-ers cannot be opened during playback, so playback mustbe stopped before pressing these buttons.CONT. / SINGLE ButtonsPress these to switch between the single and continu-ous play modes. The selected mode is indicated by theSINGLE and CONTINUE indicators on the LCD.A ButtonsUse these buttons to set the starting point for loop play-back.TRACK/ INDEX SAMP. PITCHTRACK/ INDEX SAMP PITCHUse these buttons to select the track, the index, to beplayed.Also selects the sampler pitch during sample playback.CUE ButtonsPress the CUE buttons during playback to return to theposition at which playback started. The player is ready toplay when the CUE LED stops flashing, remaining lit.PLAY/PAUSEUse these buttons to start playback. Press once to startplayback, once again to set the pause mode, and oncemore to resume playback.SAMPLER ButtonsPress these buttons to start recording the sample. Pressthe PLAY/PAUSE button after recording to set the sam-ple play mode. These are also used to switch betweenthe disc play and sample play mode.B ButtonsUse these buttons to set the end point for loop playback.EXIT/ RELOOP ButtonPress these buttons during loop playback to stop loopplayback and continue normal playback past the B point(exit), or to return to loop playback for a loop which waspreviously exited (reloop).LOOP ButtonsPress these buttons to start loop mode. The LOOP LEDi s lit solid during loop playback.I NDEX ButtonPress this button to turn the index mode on and off.The "INDEX" indicator lights when the index mode isturned on.Shuttle DialsUse these dials to select the scanning direction andspeed. The disc is scanned in the forward direction whenthe shuttle dial is turned clockwise from the neutral posi-tion, and in the reverse direction when the shuttle dial isturned counterclockwise. The scanning speed increasesas the wheel is turned further.Jog DialsWhen these dials are turned during the search operation,the point at which the sound is being produced moves bya number of frames corresponding to the number ofclicks.Pitch SlidersUse these sliders to adjust the BPM. Slide up to decreasethe BPM, down to increase the BPM.PITCH ButtonsUse these buttons to enable or disable pitch adjustmentusing the pitch sliders. Pitch adjustment with the pitchslider is enabled when the PITCH LED is lit.KEY CONTROL ButtonsWhen these buttons are pressed, the key control modei s turned on and the key can be adjusted with thebuttons.When pressed again, the key adjust mode is turned onand the key remains the same even if the pitch ischanged.
