– 35 – ENEnglishTROUBLESHOOTING GUIDEIf the DVD player does not perform properly when operated as instructed in these Operating Instructions, check the player,consulting the following checklist.Problem Solution PageNo power –Check if the AC power cord is properly connected. ––Unplug the AC code once, and wait for 5-10 seconds and then plug –it in again.No sound or picture –Check if the TV is turned on. ––Check the video and HDMI connection. 15, 16–Check the AUDIO/VIDEO cable connections to the TV. 12-16(See CONNECTIONS.)–Check if the PURE DIRECT is set to ON. If it is the case, set it to 17OFF.–Check if the VIDEO OUT mode is set correctly. 12, 29Distorted picture –Sometimes a small amount of picture distortion may appear. –This is not a malfunction.–Connect the DVD player directly to the TV. 15–Check if the VIDEO OUT mode is set correctly. 12, 29Completely distorted picture or –Connect the DVD player directly to the TV. 15black/white picture with DVD –Make sure the disc is compatible with the DVD player. 6No sound or distorted sound –Adjust the volume. ––Check that the speakers are connected correctly. 13-15–The HDMI sound is not output during PURE DIRECT or when 17, 31AUDIO MODE is set to ANALOG.No audio at digital output –Check the digital connections. 13, 16–Check the audio settings. 30-32–Digital signals cannot be output with Super Audio CDs. (This player will not output a video signal unless theother equipment supports HDCP.)–Connect the DVD player to the display equipment using the Audio/ 13-16,Video cables (supplied), and check the HDMI settings. 30-32–Check whether the output format of this player (HDMI FORMAT) 16matches the supported input format of other connected equipment.–Check if the PURE DIRECT is set to ON.
