14Selector knob1/3MENU CUEMENUReserving a track to play nextDuring playback, the next track can be selected by the selector knob toset the selected track into standby. When the current track is finished,the reserved track automatically starts.To activate this function, make the setting below.1 Press MENU.2 Turn the selector knob to select “NextReserv.”, thenpress the selector knob.3 Turn the selector knob to select “On”, then press theselector knob.• To disable this function, select “OFF”.4 Press MENU to exit.This function is available regardless of “FinishMode” setting(vpage 15).Operations enabled during playbackStarting playback from a specified position(Cue function)You can specify a certain position and start playback there. To use thisfunction, set a position (cue point) first.n Setting a cue point1 At a position from where you want to start playbacknext, press 1/3 to set the player in the pause mode.2 Press 6 or 7 to fine-tune the position.3 Press CUE.The CUE indicator lights.The position is memorized as a cue point.n Starting from the cue point1 Set a cue point beforehand. (Make sure the CUEindicator lights.)2 During playback, press CUE.Playback stops.3 Press 1/3.Playback starts from the cue point.Skipping a silent section automatically (Auto Cue)Some tracks may have an introduction with very weak sound level.The Auto Cue function automatically skips such a silent section tosearch the first point that exceeds −40dBFS within 20 seconds fromthe beginning of a track. By activating this function, each track can beaccessed with a silent section skipped.To use this function, make the following setting.q Press MENU.w Turn the selector knob to select “Auto Cue”, then press theselector knob.e Turn the selector knob to select “On”.If you do not want to skip a silent section , select “Off”.r Press the selector knob to enter your selection.t Press MENU to exit.NOTEThis function is not available for VBR MP3 files.
