When the LED turned off remove all previouslyconnected devices from the Smartlink and switch the modeselector button from Active mode to Bypass. Next time whenyou turn the ignition ON the Smartlink will be in bypass modewhen no functions are accessible and the LED flashes on theconnector port.To get back to Active mode, turn everything off completely untilthe flashing blue light goes off and select Active mode on theConnector Port. The Connector Port has a reset button to use on the rare occasionwhen a full hardware reset is needed.MicrophoneMHL / HDMI cableAudio / Video AUX inConnector portSmartlinkSmartlinkhardware Cari-Drive Professional(CCC / CIC, Dual Slot)optical inlineconnectorSmartlink for BMW installation diagramSymptom Cause SolutionStatus LED is OFFon the ConnectorPortThere is a brake onthe MOST ring or thepower connection ismissingCheck the installation, make sure that thelight directions and theoptical connections arecorrectSmartlink is notrecognizedWrong DIP switchsettings or the TVoption is not activatedCheck the DIP switches, program the requiredoption (TV)TV sourceoption is greyedout and statusLED is flashingcontinuously onthe ConnectorPortBypass modeselectedChange the modefrom Bypass to Activemode according to themanualMHL works ifthe vehicle isin stationery orparking mode (P)Video in motion (VIM)is not available /activatedProgram (code) Video inMotion functionFuzzy, distortedpicture, incorrector inverted colorsWrong video standardsettingCheck the DIP switchconfiguration (PAL /NTSC) or setting on thedevice6.
