The first part of this manualcontains basic information about the opera-tion of different parts of the heater. Reviewthis information. It provides a basic under-standing of how the parts function in theworking system. The last part of this manualis a troubleshooting section. It provides aquick reference concerning conditions whichmay result in customer complaints. Theseprocedures will help the service personquickly diagnose a malfunctioning heater.The illustrations in this manual may not nec-essarily depict the actual heater model. Theyare intended for reference only.Technical Service DepartmentThe Technical Service Department, locatedin Bowling Green, Kentucky, is committed tohelp increase the service knowledge of thosewho service these heaters. This will enableservice people to provide prompt, efficientservice. This service manual covers the majorproblems that can occur with the heaters.However, as with any product, certain prob-lems can arise which this manual does notcover. If such problems arise, please call theTechnical Service Department at 1-800-323-5190. The Technical Service Department isopen from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Central Time.This number is only for servicing problemsand cannot be used for ordering parts, billingquestions, etc.Service PreparationA clean work area at the start of each job isessential for efficient service work. Cleanextremely dirty heaters before servicing.Cleaning will sometimes uncover the prob-lem area. Gather tools needed for the jobbefore work is started. Having to locate toolscauses delays that lead to lost time andwages.Always use clean fuel when testing heater.Many problems are often caused by thewrong type of fuel or dirty fuel.Use caution and common sense when work-ing on heater.
