It is importantthat combustible materials do not overlap faceitself. Brick, glass, tile or other noncombustiblematerials may overlap front face providedthey do not obstruct essential openings suchas louvered slots. When overlapping witha noncombustible facing material, use onlynoncombustible mortar or adhesive.InStaLLatIOnGAS LINE HOOK-UPWARNING: A qualified ser-vice person must connect heaterto gas supply. Once connectedthrough appliance, a flexible gas line may beused for ease of installation to gas controlvalve (see Figure 25, page 18).Before connecting black iron gas line to insideof appliance a sediment trap must be includedoutside appliance between gas line and gasshutoff valve. It must extend down 3" beyondcenter of pipe. Prepare incoming black irongas line with teflon tape or pipe joint com-pound (Check with local building codes).
