Failure code timing is 1/4 secondon, 1/2 second off.Sequence is failure code followed by LED notblinking for four seconds. In the event of multiple failure codes, the nextfailure code follows the previous failure code byapproximately 3 seconds.LED Failure Code(No. of Blinks) Service Action8 Replace valve.7 Confirm stepper motorconnection exists.5 Confirm fan connectionexists and works.3 Replace thermopiles.2 Device too hot. Turn on fanor if applicable, open glassdoors.1 short blink Normal operationLED Failure Codes and Service ActionWARNING: Turn off and unplug heater and let cool before servicing.Only a qualified service person should service and repair heater.IMPORTANT: Valve system troubleshooting should only be accom-plished by a qualified service technician.Note: Before troubleshooting the gas control system, be sure external gas shut off valve (located at gassupply inlet) is in the "ON" position.POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDYOBSERVED PROBLEM1. Defective ignitor (no sparkat electrode)2. Defective or misalignedelectrode at pilot (spark atelectrode)3. Gas supply pressure errant4. Pilot orifice plugged1. Defective pilot generator(thermocouple)Spark ignitor will not light pilotafter repeated triggering of ig-nitor buttonPilot will not stay lit after care-fully following the lightinginstructions1. Check for spark at electrodeand pilot; if no spark andelectrode wire is properlyconnected, replace ignitor2. Using a match, light pilot. Ifpilot lights, turn off pilot andtrigger the ignitor button again. If pilot lights, an improper gasmixture caused the bad lightingand a longer purge period isrecommended. If pilot will notlight, check gap at electrodeand pilot - gap should be 1/8"to have a strong spark. If gapmeasures 1/8", replace pilot3. Check inlet gas pressure. Itshould be within the limits asmarked on the rating plate4. Clean or replace pilot orifice1. Check pilot flame, it mustimpinge on thermocouple(see Figure 13, page 11).Clean and/or adjust pilot formaximum flame impingementon thermocouple. Ensure thatthe connection between thevalve and thermocouple aretight and secure.
