These holes maybecome blocked with dust or lint. Periodicallyinspect these holes for any blockage and clean ifneeded. Blocked air holes will create soot.MAIN BURNERPeriodically inspect all burner flame holes withthe heater running. All slotted burner flame holesshould be open with yellow flame present. Allround burner flame holes should be open with asmall blue flame present. Some burner flame holesmay become blocked by debris or rust, with noflame present. Inspect these areas ofheater before each use. Haveheater inspected yearly by aqualified service person. Heatermay need more frequent clean-ing due to excessive lint fromcarpeting, pet hair, beddingmaterial, etc.WARNING: Failure to keepthe primary air opening(s) ofthe burner(s) clean may result insooting and property damage.BURNER INjECTOR HOLDER ANDPILOT AIR INLET HOLEThe primary air inlet holes allow the proper amountof air to mix with the gas. This provides a cleanburning flame. Keep these holes clear of dust, dirt,lint and pet hair. Clean these air inlet holes prior toeach heating season. Blocked air holes will createsoot. We recommend that you clean the unit everythree months during operation and have heaterinspected yearly by a qualified service person.We also recommend that you keep the burnertube and pilot assembly clean and free of dust anddirt. To clean these parts we recommend usingcompressed air no greater than 30 PSI. Your localcomputer store, hardware store or home centermay carry compressed air in a can. You can use avacuum cleaner in the blow position. If using com-pressed air in a can, please follow the directions onthe can. If you don’t follow directions on the can,you could damage the pilot assembly.
