www.desatech.com 119426-01A32OPTIONAL POSITIONINGOF THERMOSTATSENSING bULb(Thermostat-Controlled Models Only)FOR MASONRY AND FACTORY-BUILT METAL FIREPLACEIf your log set cycles to pilot, but the room tem-perature drops to a lower than ideal comfort levelbefore the log set comes back on, you may wantto reposition the thermostat sensing bulb. The thermostat sensing bulb is located on the gasvalve assembly. This location allows the ther-mostat to keep the room temperature at an idealcomfort level for most fireplace applications. Forpositioning the thermostat sensing bulb elsewhere,an adhesive-backed mounting clip is available(see Figure 42).Tools needed: 5/16" hex driver or socket1. Locate the gas valve assembly and thermostatsensing bulb (see Figure 43).2. With 5/16” hex driver or socket, loosen thethermostat screw. Carefully slide the thermo-stat sensing bulb out of the retaining clamp(see Figure 44).Note: Do not remove the screw. Make sureyou tighten the screw after removing thethermostat sensing bulb.IMPORTANT: Do not force or bend thethermostat sensing bulb or capillary.CapillaryScrew Retaining ClampThermostatSensing BulbFigure 43 - Location of Gas ValveAssembly and Thermostat Sensing BulbThermostatSensing BulbGas ValveAssemblyFigure 42 - Adhesive-backed MountingClipFigure 44 - Removing ThermostatSensing BulbFigure 45 - Locating Thermostat SensingBulb on Masonry FireplaceFigure 46 - Locating Thermostat SensingBulb on Factory-built Metal FireplaceAdhesive-backedMounting ClipThermostatSensing BulbFigure 47 - Installing Thermostat SensingBulb Behind Glass DoorsAdhesive-backedMounting ClipGlass DoorsThermostatSensing BulbAdhesive-backedMounting ClipThermostatSensing Bulb(Unit WillDiffer FromIllustration)(Unit WillDiffer FromIllustration)3. The thermostat sensing bulb may be locatedto the lower right front side of fireplace. De-termine location of sensing bulb, but do notmount sensing bulb until step 4. If you have amasonry fireplace, see Figure 45 for location. If you have a factory-built metal fireplace, seeFigure 46 for location. If your fireplace has glass doors, positionsensing bulb directly behind door gap on rightbottom side (see Figure 47).
