When unit is lit, check flames for randomappearance and ember bed glowing red-orange in color (see Burner Flame Pattern,page 13). Ifthe knob will not push in or turn byhand, do not try to repair it, call a quali-fied technician. Force or attemptedrepair may result in a fire.D. Do not use this appliance if any parthas been under water. Immediatelycall a qualified service technician toinspect the appliance and to replaceany part of the control system andany gas control which has been underwater.LIGHTINGINSTRUCTIONS1. STOP! Read the safety information,above.2. Make sure switch is in the OFF position.3. Be sure gas line shut-off valve is OPEN.4. Press in and turn control knob clock-wise to the OFF position (seeFigure 15).Note: Knob cannot be turned from PILOTto OFF unless knob is pushed in slightly.DO NOT FORCE.5. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas.If you then smell gas, STOP! Follow "B" inthe safety information in column 1. If youdon't smell gas, go on the next step.6.
