The air is thenpushed through the nozzle. This air causesfuel to lift from the tank. A fine mist of fuelis sprayed into the combustion chamber. The Air System: The motor turns the fan.The fan pushes air into and around thecombustion chamber. This air is heated andprovides a stream of clean, hot air.The Ignition System: The ignition con-trol assembly provides power to the ignitor. This ignites the fuel/air mixture in the com-bustion chamber. The Flame-Out Control System: Thissystem causes the heater to shut down if theflame goes out.FuelFilterAir LineTo BurnerAirOutputFilterAir PumpAir IntakeFilterCoolAir InFanCombustion ChamberIgnitorMotorIgnition ControlAssemblyAir For Fuel System Air For CombustionAnd Heating FuelNozzleFuelTankTHEORY OF OPERATIONDo not use heavy fuels such as No. 2 fuel oilor No. 2 Diesel. Using heavy fuels willresult in a clogged fuel filter and/or nozzle.IMPORTANT: Use a KEROSENE ONLYstorage container. Be sure storage container isclean. Foreign matter such as rust, dirt, orwater will cause the ignition control assemblyto shut down the heater. Foreign matter mayalso require you to clean fuel system often.Provide at least a three-square-foot openingof fresh, outside air for each 100,000 Btu/Hrrating. Provide extra fresh air if more heat-ers are being used.Example: A 60,000 Btu/Hr heater requiresone of the following:• a two-car garage door (16 feet wide open-ing) raised 1 1/2"inches• a single-car garage door (9 feet wideopening) raised 2 1/2" inches• two windows (30 inches wide opening)raised 4 1/ 2" inchesFUELSWARNING: Use only keroseneor No. 1 fuel oil to avoid risk of fireor explosion. Never use gasoline, naphtha, paint thinners, alcohol,or other highly flammable fuels.VENTILATIONWARNING: Follow the mini-mum fresh, outside air ventila-tion requirements. If proper fresh, outside air ventilation is not pro-vided, carbon monoxide poison-ing can occur. Provide properfresh, outside air ventilation be-fore running heater.
