Figure 32 shows an incorrect pilotflame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame isnot touching the thermocouple. This willcause the thermocouple to cool. When thethermocouple cools, the heater will shutdown.Figure 31 - Correct Pilot Flame PatternFigure 32 - Incorrect Pilot Flame PatternIf pilot flame pattern is incorrect, as shownin Figure 32• turn heater off (see To Turn Off Gasto Appliance, page 15 [thermostat-controlled models] or page 16[manually-controlled models])• see Troubleshooting, pages 18through 20Thermocouple Pilot BurnerPilot BurnerThermocouple8. Push in and turn control knob coun-terclockwise C-clockwise to the HIGHposition. Both burners should light.Set control knob to desired setting.WARNING: Do not operateheater between locked positions.CAUTION: Do not try to adjustheating levels by using themanual shutoff valve.Figure 30 - PilotThe variable control valve can be set toany heat setting and flame height desired,by simply turning the control knob untilthat setting is attained. Even the lowestsetting provides realistic flames and glow-ing embers from two burners. Selectinghigher settings produces greater heatoutput. This results in increased heatingcomfort.Shutting Off Heater1. Press in and turn control knob clock-wise Clockwise to the HIGH position.2. Turn the control knob clockwiseClockwise to the PILOT position.3. Press in control knob and turn clock-wise Clockwise to the OFF Position.Shutting Off Burners Only (pilotstays lit)1.
