If you have these signs,the heater may not be working properly. Get freshair at once! Have heater serviced. Some peopleare more affected by carbon monoxide than others.These include pregnant women, persons with heartor lung disease or anemia, those under the influenceof alcohol, and those at high altitudes.Natural and Propane/LP Gas : Natural andpropane/LP gases are fuel gases. Fuel gases areodorless. An odor-making agent is added to fuelgases. The odor helps you detect a fuel gas leak.However, the odor added to fuel gas can fade. Fuelgas may be present even though no odor exists.Make certain you read and understand all warn-ings. Keep this manual for reference. It is yourguide to safe and proper operation of this heater.WARNING: Any change tothis heater or its controls canbe dangerous.WARNING: Do not use ablower insert, heat exchangerinsert or other accessory not ap-proved for use with this heater.Due to high temperatures, theappliance should be located outof traffic and away from furnitureand draperies.Do not place clothing or otherflammable material on or nearthe appliance. Never place anyobjects on the heater.Surface of heater becomes veryhot when running heater. Keepchildren and adults away fromhot surface to avoid burns orclothing ignition. Heater willremain hot for a time after shut-down. Allow surface to coolbefore touching.Carefully supervise young chil-dren when they are in the sameroom with heater.Make sure grill guard is in placebefore running heater.Keep the appliance area clearand free from combustible ma-terials, gasoline, and other flam-mable vapors and liquids.1. This appliance is only for use with the type ofgas indicated on the rating plate. This applianceis not convertible for use with other gases.2. Do not place propane/LP supply tank(s) in-side any structure. Locate propane/LP supplytank(s) outdoors.3. Do not install 10,000 Btu units in a bath-room4. If you smell gas• Shut off gas supply• Do not try to light any appliance• Do not touch any electrical switch; do notuse any phone in your building• Immediately call your gas supplier from aneighborʼs phone. Follow the gas supplierʼsinstructions• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, callthe fire department5. This heater needs fresh, outside air ventilationto run properly. This heater has an OxygenDepletion Sensing (ODS) safety shutoffsystem. The ODS shuts down the heater ifnot enough fresh air is available. See Air forCombustion and Ventilation, page 5.
