Small welding machines will only providecurrent (amperage) to run smaller sized electrodes. For thin sections, it is necessary to use smaller electrodesotherwise the arc may burn holes through the job. A little practicewill soon establish the most suitable electrode for a givenapplication.Storage of ElectrodesAlways store electrodes in a dry place and in their originalcontainers.Electrode PolarityElectrodes are generally connected to the electrode holder withthe electrode holder connected positive polarity. The work lead is connected to the negative polarity and isconnected to the work piece. If in doubt consult the electrodedata sheet.ELECTRODES8ARC 161/201 PFCOWNER’S MANUAL
