The group seeks to develop and promote auniversally compatible, rewritable DVD format to enable true convergencebetween personal computing and consumer electronics products.DVD FLLC (Format, Logo, Licensing, Corporation)DVD Format/Logo Licensing Corp (DVD FLLC) was established in 2000 tohandle issuing of the DVD specifications, granting licenses tomanufacturers and policing the use of the DVD logos. All manufacturers ofhardware, discs and related DVD products must be licensed and firstproducts verified to ensure that all players will play all discs. The correctlogos must be used for the appropriate products in the appropriate way.13
