Save the contents of the program memory. Use a PC and the ApplicationBuilder programto do this. Changing the battery may reset the system if you wait too long to change it ordon't change it quickly, thereby erasing all memory contents.2. Remove power connections to the unit.WarningDisconnect power from the Mode11100 or 1000 before attempting to change thebattery hazardous voltages exist inside the unit with power connected. Personalinjury or death may result if the power is not disconnected.For replacement.use Panasonic BatteryBR2330 or equivalentInsert screwcirrver here3. Carefully unscrew the top two screws and each of the screws on the side of the unit.4. Lay the unit face down on a soft, clean surface.5. Remove the rear cover by carefully lifting it off the unit.6. Position the cover to the side of the unit being careful not to stress the internal cables.7. To remove the old battery, insert a small screwdriver between the edge of the battery andthe battery holder near the battery clip (see diagram). Push gently and the batteryshould slide out.8. Before installing the new battery, press down on the battery clip to make sure that therewill be good retention force when the battery is in place. Also make sure the all contactsurfaces are clean. A s noted on the battery clip, make sure that the positive (+) side ofthe battery is up. Slide the battery under the clip and into the battery holder. Make surethat the battery is held firmly in place.WarningImproper orientation of battery will not allow the battery-backed RAM tofunction and your memory will cease to be nonvolatile. However, this will notdamage the battery of the controller, so just turn the battery over and continuewith the installation procedure.9. Replace cover and cover screws.10. Reconnect power to the unit.11. if you notice any problems that cannot be explained by the battery being installed upsidedown (no nonvolatile memory), disconnect power and connect an IBM KEYBOARD tothe KEYBOARD connector. Make sure that the keyboard is a type that is compatiblewith an IBM PC XT (not AT).12. Reconnect power to the unit. Press Ctrl, Aft, and Del keys on the IBM KEYBOARDsimultaneously.
