VR21 and VR51 – 77. Install the horn assembly to the enclosure using the 8 Allen bolts.8. Replace the grille and secure the screws holding it to the enclosure.4. CONNECTIONSWARNING: To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not connect the loudspeakerwith the amplifier switched on. The protective cover over the terminal strip is a safetyfeature per CE requirements. Replace this cover after making the signal connections.1. Remove the insulating cover from the loudspeaker inputterminal strip.2. The positive (+) input terminal of the loudspeaker connectsto the positive (+) output of your power amplifier.3. The negative (–) terminal of the loudspeaker connects tothe negative (–) output of your power amplifier.4. Using a small phillips screwdriver, secure the connections.5. Replace the insulating cover over the loudspeaker inputterminal strip.Loudspeaker Cables• Use loudspeaker cables with a minimumconductor size for the length you need, aslisted in these tables. This will minimizepower losses to less than 0.5 dB. Thecable lengths listed are “up to” lengths. For in-between lengths, use the next largerconductor gauge. Using larger than therecommended conductor size is alwayspermissible. Using smaller than recommendedconductor size will result in higher powerlosses.• The recommended conductor gauges arelisted for AWG (American Wire Gauge) andMetric WG (Metric Wire Gauge). Note thatsmaller AWG numbers = larger conductorsand smaller Metric WG numbers = smallerconductors. The Metric WG is equal to tentimes the nominal conductor diameter in millimeters.• For cable lengths over 200 feet / 60 m at 8 ohms, and over 100 feet / 30 m at 4 ohms, the conductor sizes needed for less than 0.5 dB power losses are rarely practicalfor physical and cost reasons. As a practical compromise for these situations therecommended conductor gauge is 10 AWG or 25 metric.AMP XVRLFHFCAUTION:SUSPENDING THIS SYSTEM SHOULD BE DONE BY QUALIFIEDTECHNICIANS FOLLOWING APPROPRIATE SAFETY STANDARDS--+INPUTMinimum AWG 4 ohm 8 ohm18 10 ft 25 ft16 25 5014 25 7512 50 12510 100 200Min Metric WG 4 ohm 8 ohm12 3 m 8 m14 8 1516 8 2520 15 4025 30 60
