AccessoriesLiquid level gaugeA liquid level indicator is provided to aid in the systematicinspection of the transformer under load. It consists ofa float-arm inside the tank, an indicating pointer and amagnetic coupling between the two across a liquid-tightseparation. Under normal operating conditions, the pointershould be between the lo/min and hi/max level markings. The gauge may be furnished with SPDT (Single Pole DoubleThrow) alarm contacts to give a remote annunciation oflow liquid level. For contact wiring and terminal points, see the accessory connection diagram furnished with thetransformer.Liquid temperature gaugeThe temperature gauge is furnished to indicate the topliquid temperature in the tank in degrees Centigrade. Thetemperature-sensitive element is mounted in a leak-proofwell, permitting removal of the thermometer without lower-ing the oil level. The device is furnished with an additionalred pointer to show the highest temperature attained sincethe last reset. To reset the maximum indicator, turn the knobin the center of the dial. The thermometer can be furnished with two SPDT contactsfor a high temperature alarm, for energizing a fan circuit orfor a low temperature alarm. The trip settings are indicatedby the red tick marks on the edges of the dial. For additionalwiring and contact settings, refer to the schematic furnishedwith the transformer.Figure 1 Liquid level gauge Figure 2 Liquid temperature gauge4SubStation tranSformer inStallation and partS replacement information MN202002EN JUNE 2016
