Work in a cleanarea. Before disconnecting thehydraulic lines, clean the portarea of the SCU. Before disas-sembly, drain the oil, then plugthe ports and thoroughly cleanthe exterior of the SCU.During repairs, always protectmachined surfaces.Disassembly1. Remove the seven capscrews and disassemblethe SCU as shown infigure 1.2. Remove the plug andmanual steering checkas shown in figure 1.Note: The manual steeringcheck may be a check ballor a check/relief valve.Disassembly3. Slide the spool and sleevefrom the housing, seefigure 2.4. Remove the thrust bearingand bearing races.5. Remove the quad seal.Disassembly6. Using a small blade screw-driver, carefully pry thedust seal from the housing.Important: Do not damagethe dust seal seat.Figure 1Figure 2
