116.3 Cable entries (KLE)/Blanking plugsGenerally, only certified cable entriesand blanking plugs may be used. Flexiblecables are to be used with trumpet-shapedcable glands or other suitable entries withadditional pull-relief.Intrinsically safe circuits (Ex-i) are to beconnected through the coloured (light blue)cable entries. The mounting directives applicable to thefitted cable entries are to be observed. When using cable entries with a lower IPprotection than that which applies to thedevice (see technical data) the IP protectionof the whole device will be reduced. In order to establish the minimum protectioncategory, unused holes have to be closed witha certified blanking plug.Care has to be taken that when fitting the cableentries, sealing inserts appropriate to the cablediameter are used.In case of sealing inserts that are cut out, it willhave to be ensured that the insert is properlyadapted to the cable diameter. All vacant metric CCH/EATON cable entries areto be closed with the certified blanking plug formetric cable entries. In order to ensure the required minimumprotection category, the cable glands shallbe tightened down.Overtightening might impair theprotection category.Attention: When tightening the capnut of the type ADE 1F metal cable entry, thescrewing is to be protected againsttwisting by means of a suitable tool.6.4 Flange and metal platesIf flange plates have to be removed in case ofplastic terminal boxes (e.g. for drilling entryholes), attention will have to be paid to theproper fit of the flange plate and of the clampclip when mounting them in order to maintainthe minimum protection category.Flange plates for stainless steel terminalboxes shall be fitted so that the IP protectionin maintained. Pay attention to the properseat of the sealing element.PE conductors fed from outside are to beconnected to the PE terminal provided onthe flange. The maximum cross-section is50mm².Attention: Metal flanges, metal platesand metal cable glands shall be included inthe equip potential earth connection. If terminal boxes with plastic flanges areused within the scope of the type examina-tion certificate in ambient temperaturesbelow -40°C, they shall be installed in such away that they are protected againstinadmissible mechanical loads.6.5 Closing the device/cover closureAny foreign matter is to be removedfrom the apparatus. In order to ensure the required minimumprotection category, the cover screws are tobe tightened down.Overtightening might impair theprotection category.6.6 Taking into operationPrior to taking the apparatus into operation, the tests specified in the relevant nationalregulations will have to be carried out. Apartfrom that, the correct functioning and installa-tion of the apparatus in accordance with theseoperating instructions and other applicableregulations will have to be checked.Incorrect installation and use ofthe terminal boxes can invalidate theguarantee.7 Maintenance / ServicingThe relevant national regulations whichapply to the maintenance/repair of electricalapparatus in explosive atmospheres, willhave to be observed (IEC/EN 60079-17).Before opening the enclosure make surethat the terminal box is disconnected fromthe voltage, or take the appropriateprotective measures. In case of intrinsically safe circuits, working ispermitted while voltage applies. The required maintenance intervals dependon the specific application and will thereforehave to be determined by the user dependenton the conditions of use.Fig. 4Apparatus holder size 2A for pipe mountingFig. 5Apparatus holder size 2A for channel- and wall mountingC CClamp fastening holes fortermional box GHG 721 0...Clamp fastening holes forterminal box GHG 721 0...Explosion protected terminal boxes type, GHG 72.
