Designed formotor status applications wheresetpoint accuracy and repeatability are critical, the ECSTD Series offersa linear setpoint characteristic and constant hysteresis.Standard features include self-powering, jumper-selectable ranges anda choice of outputs and housing styles cases. Models are availablewhich provide N.O. or N.C. AC contacts or solid-state N.O. or N.C.“universal” contact outputs which can switch AC or DC. Contact actioncan be delayed for up to 15 seconds by using the Time Delay Adjustpotentiometer.Eaton’s current sensor family encompasses a broad range of productsfor cost-effective monitoring, status, and predictive maintenance.Downtime and costly repairs can be avoided by utilizing Eaton’sproducts and technologies in your control systems. To open:Press tab inwardtowards hingeImportant:Keep contact areas cleanINSTALLATIONConsiderations for all ECSTD Series models…• Run wire to be monitored through the aperture (opening) in theswitch body• These switches can be located in the same environment asmotors, contactors, heaters, pull-boxes and other electricalenclosures• Mounting can be done in any position or hung directly on a wirewith a wire tie• Be sure to leave at least one inch distance between sensor andother magnetic devicesConsiderations for split-core models only…• Press the tab in the direction shown below to open the sensor.• After placing the wire in the aperture, press the hinged portionfi rmly downward until a click is heard and the tab pops out fully.• Keep split-core contact areas clean. Silicon grease is factoryapplied on the mating surfaces to prevent rust and improveperformance. Be careful not to allow grit or dirt into the grease inthe contact area, particularly on core mating surfaces of split coremodels. Sensor operation could be impaired if mating surfaces donot have good contact. Check visually before closing.QUICK INSTALL GUIDEThe below steps can be followed to quickly install a CurrentWatch™ECSTD Series switch.1. Run the wire to be monitored through the aperture2. Mount the sensor3. Connect output wiringa. Use up to 14 AWG copper wiresb. Ensure load matches the output shown on the switch label4. Adjust the setpointa. Choose correct range by positioning the range jumper(removed for low, across two appropriate pins for medium, orhigh)b.
