AN EXAMPLEOF A TYPICAL WARNING LABEL HEADING IS SHOWN ABOVE TOFAMILIARIZE PERSONNEL WITH THE STYLE OF PRESENTATION. THISWILL HELP TO INSURE THAT PERSONNEL ARE ALERT TO WARNINGS.IN ADDITION, CAUTIONS ARE ALL UPPER CASE AND BOLDFACE.Section 1: IntroductionGeneral InformationThe Magnum SB Power Circuit Breaker can be fixed or drawoutair circuit breaker utilizing an electronic tripping system Itis designed for use in both switchboard and metal-enclosedswitchgear assemblies having maximum voltages of 635volts ac Magnum SB circuit breakers are available in threephysical frame sizes with continuous current ratings from800 through 5000A and interrupting capacities from 50 kA to150 kA The three physical frame sizes have common heightand depth dimensions, differing only in width (Figure 1) Thecircuit breaker nameplate provides complete rating informationAll Magnum SB circuit breakers are 100 percent rated, ULlisted, and are built and tested in an ISO 9002 certified facilityto applicable NEMA, ANSI, IEEE and UL standards (Table 1,Figures 2 and 3)Magnum SB circuit breakers use a rigid frame housing ofengineered thermoset composite resins which has highstrength structural properties, excellent dielectric characteristicsand arc tracking resistanceThe drawout Magnum SB circuit breaker is a through-the-doordesign having three breaker positions with the compartmentdoor closed (CONNECT, TEST, DISCONNECT) and one positionout of its compartment on extension rails (REMOVE) Theoperating mechanism is a two-step stored energy mechanism, either manually or electrically operatedWhen withdrawn on captive compartment cassette extensionrails, Magnum SB circuit breakers can be inspected, accessoryitems added, and minor maintenance performed The inside ofthe compartment can also be inspected with the circuit breakeron its extension railsCAUTIONPLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFOREATTEMPTING TO UNPACK, INSTALL, OPERATE OR MAINTAINTHIS EQUIPMENT. STUDY THE BREAKER AND ITS MECHANISMCAREFULLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO OPERATE IT ON AN ENERGIZEDCIRCUIT.WARNINGMAGNUM SB CIRCUIT BREAKERS SHOULD NOT UNDER ANYCIRCUMSTANCES BE APPLIED OUTSIDE THEIR NAMEPLATERATINGS. OPERATION OUTSIDE OF THESE RATINGS COULD RESULTIN DEATH, BODILY INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
