The STS source transferswitch is a simple and effective solutionto manage the redundancy provided bytwo independent power sources.STS handles the automatic or manualtransfer of your loads between twoindependent power sources withoutinterrupting the supply of power (< 6milliseconds). Either of the two sourcesmay be designated as the preferredsource with the other becoming thealternate source. In the event of afailure, transfer from one to the other isautomatic and instantaneous.Automatic transfer to the alternatesource takes place if the voltage of thepreferred source goes outside a toleranceof 12 % above or below the nominalvalue. Return to the preferred sourceis automatic when the voltage returnswithin the ±12 % tolerance range.To provide a maximum level ofprotection for the connected sensitiveequipment, both power sources shouldbe on-line type UPSs.
