Periodic carburetoradjustment may be necessary to assure blades do not move at idle.If blades move, readjust carburetor according to these instructions, or see your ECHO Dealer.Engine Break-InNew engines must be operated a minimum duration of two tanks of fuel break-in before carburetoradjustments can be made. During the break-in period your engine performance will increase and exhaustemissions will stabilize. Idle speed can be adjusted as required.High Altitude OperationThis engine has been factory adjusted to maintain satisfactory starting, emission, and durability performanceup to 1,100 feet above sea level (ASL) (96.0 kPa). To maintain proper engine operation and emissioncompliance above 1,100 feet ASL the carburetor may need to be adjusted by an authorized ECHO servicedealer.If the engine is adjusted for operation above 1,100 feet ASL, the carburetor must be re-adjusted whenoperating the engine below 1,100 feet ASL, otherwise severe engine damage may result.Level 2.Note: Every unit is run at the factory and the carburetor is set in compliance with emission regulations.Carburetor adjustments, other than idle speed, must be performed by an authorized ECHO dealer.1. Before adjusting the carburetor, clean or replace the air filterand spark arrestor screen.2. Start engine and run for several minutes to reach operatingtemperature.3. Check idle speed and reset if necessary. If a tachometer isavailable, idle speed screw (A) should be set to thespecifications found on “Specifications” page of thismanual. Turn idle screw (A) clockwise to increase idlespeed; counter clockwise to decrease idle speed.When carburetor adjustment is completed, the cutting attachment should not move at idle,otherwise serious personal injury may result.Parts Required: NoneA
