Ecologix TP30 Installation Instructions Manual
TP-M119INTRODUCTIONThermal-pac™ and thermal-duct™ airhandlers are designed for use withhydronic (boiler) systems or incombination space and water heatingsystems (Combo Systems). Comboheating systems use the home’s waterheater to provide both the space heatingand domestic hot water, eliminating theneed for a furnace.Combo heating systems are ideallysuited for single-family homes, townhouses and apartments where thecost of a furnace does not make sense orspace requirements are limited. Theyare also great for additions, renovationand finished basements as areplacement for, or in addition to theexisting heating system. Ecologix airhandlers are also great for hydronicheating systems using ground-sourceheat pumps. They are the smallest unitsavailable in their capacity range.Thermal-pac™ and thermal-duct™ airhandlers are designed to take theguesswork out of system sizing andinstallation. Matched specifically tocommon water heater sizes, Ecologix airhandlers can be quickly sized using thequick sizing information in our specsheets or from air handler performancecurves. For applications requiringspecial consideration, call 519-658-4330 for answers to questions related tosizing, installation or trouble-shooting forany of Ecologix air handlers or waterheaters.Ecologix provides you with the quietestoperating air handler available. By usinglarge capacity, high output heating coils, the air handlers deliver more heating pervolume of air, which means warmerdelivered air temperatures.Thermal-pac™ air handlers are intendedfor conventional duct systems andThermal-duct™ air handlers areintended for small-D™ duct systems withhigher operating static pressure. Referto the small-D™ design manual for moredetails on duct design and installation.HOW IT WORKSCoolingIn a typical installation, a call for coolingwill bring on the fan at the selected airspeed and the outdoor cooling unit. The installer can select one of threespeeds that the air handler will operate atduring cooling mode.HeatingA call for heating will bring on the pumpand the fan at the selected heatingspeed. Heating capacity may beadjusted by selecting one of three fanspeeds. Heating has priority overcooling or continuous fan. The factorydefault is low.Continuous FanWhen the thermostat fan switch is set tocontinuous fan, the fan will run at theselected speed. The factory default islow. When there is a call for heating or |
