IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ModelFM732HWhen using your canister vacuum, basic safety precautions should always beobserved, including the following:WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire,electrical shock, or injury:1. Do not leave vacuum cleaner unattendedwhen it is plugged in. Unplug fromoutlet when not in use.2. To reduce the risk of electric shock – donot use outdoors or on wet surfaces. Donot handle plug or vacuum cleaner withwet hands.3. Do not allow children to use as a toy.Close attention is necessary when usedby or near children.4. Use only as described in this manual. Useonly manufacturer’s recommendedattachments.5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. Donot use vacuum cleaner if it has beendropped, damaged, left outdoors, ordropped into water. Return appliance toFANTOM for examination, repair oradjustment.6. Do not pull or carry by cord. Do not usecord as a handle, close a door on cord,or pull cord around sharp edges orcorners. Do not run appliance over cord.Keep cord away from heated surfaces.7. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. Tounplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.8. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and allparts of body away from openings andmoving parts.9. Do not pick up hot coals, cigarette butts,matches or any hot, smoking, or burningobjects.10. Do not pick up hard or sharp objects suchas glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.11. Do not use without filters in place.12. Turn off all controls before plugging orunplugging vacuum cleaner.13. Use extra care when vacuuming onstairs.14. Do not pick up flammable orcombustible materials (lighter fluid,gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in thepresence of explosive liquids or vapor.15. Do not pick up toxic material (chlorinebleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).16. Do not use in an enclosed space filledwith vapors given off by oil basedpaints, paint thinner, moth proofingsubstances, flammable dust, or otherexplosive or toxic vapors.17. Always unplug this appliance beforeconnecting or disconnecting vacuumhose. Always hold the plug whenrewinding the power cord. Do not allowplug to whip when rewinding.18. Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.19. Do not use for any purpose other thandescribed in this user’s guide.20. Use only extension cords UL or cUL-rated at 15 amperes. Extension cordsrated for less amperage may overheat.Care should be taken to arrange thecord so that the cord cannot be pulledor tripped over.21. Do not put any objects into openings.Do not use with any opening blocked.Keep free of dust, lint, hair andanything else that may reduce air flow.22. Store your appliance indoors in a cool,dry area.23. Keep your work area well lit.24. Do not immerse the vacuum in wateror other liquids.25. Keep end of hose, wands and otheropenings away from your face andbody.ONE (1) YEAR LIMITED WARRANTYFANTOM warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period ofone (1) year from the date of the original purchase, when utilized for normal household use, subject tothe following conditions, exclusions and exceptions.If your appliance fails to operate properly while in use under normal household conditions within thewarranty period, return the complete appliance and accessories, freight prepaid to:FANTOM, 94 Main Mill Street, Door 16, Plattsburgh, N.Y. 12901If the appliance is found by FANTOM to be defective in material or workmanship, FANTOM willrepair or replace it free of charge. Proof of purchase date and$ 19.95 to cover the cost of return shipping and handling must be included. *Non-durable parts including, without limitation, filters, brushes and electrical parts which normallyrequire replacement are specifically excluded from warranty.The liability of FANTOM is limited solely to the cost of the repair or replacement of the unit at ouroption. This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts and does not apply to any unit that hasbeen tampered with or used for commercial purposes. This limited warranty does not cover damagecaused by misuse, abuse, negligent handling or damage due to faulty packaging or mishandling intransit. This warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by or resulting from damages fromshipping or repairs, service or alterations to the product or any of its parts, which have beenperformed by a repair person not authorized by FANTOM.This warranty is extended to the original purchaser of the unit and excludes all other legal and/orconventional warranties. The responsibility of FANTOM if any, is limited to the specific obligationsexpressly assumed by it under the terms of the limited warranty. In no event is FANTOM liable forincidental or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever.
