9OUTDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION111411151116Connecting wiring to the outdoor unit• The installer shall check available power to make certain itmatches the unit (Name Plate Rating) and that constant voltagecan be maintained to the unit. Unsatisfactory performancewould otherwise result. The local power company should becontacted regarding problems or questions concerning powersupply.• Install a line service disconnect switch within sight of thecondensing unit. The line voltage service wiring for thecondensing unit should include a fused disconnect switch.• Use correct wire size and fuse size. To ensure that adequatevoltage will be available at the condensing unit, the line voltageservice wiring must be of adequate size. Minimumrecommended wire ampacities and maximum fuse sizes arelisted on the unit name plate.• Two holes are provided in the control boxa. One is for the connection of the line voltage conduitor cable. The hole is sized for 3/4" conduit.b. One is for low-voltage wiring. Refer to the wiringdiagram attached to electrical box cover for connection.• Be sure to ground the condensing unit by securing the groundwire to the grounding lug inside the control box• Be sure to follow National Electrical Code and all local codesWARNINGElectrical equipment should be installed by a qualified, licensedelectrician.
