18 enDo not direct the power tool against yourself, other per-sons or animals. Danger of injury from sharp or hotapplication tools.Use and handling of the battery (battery pack). To avoid hazardous situations such as burns, fire, explo-sion, skin injuries, and other injuries when handling thebattery, observe the following instructions:Batteries must not be disassembled, opened or reducedin size. Do not subject batteries to mechanical impact orshock. Hazardous vapours and fluid can escape in case ofdamage and improper use of the battery. The vapours canirritate the respiratory system. Liquid ejected from thebattery may cause skin irritations or burns. When battery fluid from a damaged battery has come intocontact with objects close by, check the respective com-ponents, clean them or replace them as required.Keep the battery away from heat and fire. Do not store thebattery in direct sunlight.Do not remove the battery from its original packaginguntil it is going to be used. Before any work on the machine itself, remove the bat-tery from the power tool. If the power tool accidentallystarts, there is danger of injury.Remove the battery only when the power tool is switchedoff.Keep the battery away from children.Keep the battery clean and protect it against moistureand water. Clean contaminated battery terminals andpower tool connections with a dry, clean cloth.Use only intact original FEIN batteries that are intendedfor your power tool. When working with and chargingincorrect, damaged, repaired or reconditioned batteries, imitations or other brands, there is danger of fire and/orexplosion.Follow the safety warnings in the operating instructionsof the battery charger.Hand/arm vibrationsThe vibration emission level given in this informationsheet has been measured in accordance with a standard-ised test given in EN 60745 and may be used to compareone tool with another. It may be used for a preliminaryassessment of exposure. The declared vibration emission level represents themain applications of the tool. However, if the tool is usedfor different applications, with different accessories orpoorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ. This may significantly increase the exposure level overthe total working period. An estimation of the level of exposure to vibrationshould also take into account the times when the tool isswitched off or when it is running but not actually doingthe job. This may significantly reduce the exposure levelover the total working period.Identify additional safety measures to protect the opera-tor from the effects of vibration such as: maintain the tooland the accessories, keep the hands warm, organisationof work patterns.Operating Instructions.Guide the power tool toward the work piece onlywhen switched on.While cutting, hold the power tool as upright as possibleto the work-piece surface (ABLS).Guide the power tool uniformly and with light feed in thecutting direction. Excessive feed reduces the tool life ofthe application tools.Do not cut steel sheets where welded. Do not cut lay-ered sheets exceeding the max. work-piece thickness. To increase the tool life of the blades, it is recommendedto apply a lubricating agent alongside the intended cuttingline:– For cuts in steel sheet: Cutting paste or cutting oil.– For cuts in aluminium: Petroleum.Do not switch the power tool off until after havingremoved it from the cutting path. The symptom for worn blades is a clearly increased feedforce at lower working progress.ABSS: For inside cuts, a pilot hole is required; see “Tech-nical Data”.Blades and cutting bars cannot be reground.ABLS: The blades cannot be reground and must always bereplaced in pairs.Handling the battery.Operate and charge the battery only within the batteryoperating-temperature range of 0°C – 45°C (32°F –113°F). At the beginning of the charging procedure, thebattery temperature must be within the battery operat-ing-temperature range. The real percentage of the battery charge condition isonly indicated when the power tool motor is stopped. The electronics automatically switch off the motor priorto the battery being deep discharged.Repair and customer service. When working metal under extreme operat-ing conditions, it is possible for conductivedust to settle in the interior of the power tool.Blow out the interior of the power tool via the ventila-tion slots frequently with dry and oil-free compressed air.The current spare parts list for this power tool can befound in the Internet at www.fein.com.If required, you can change the following parts yourself:Application tools, cutting bars (ABSS)LED indicator Meaning Activity1 – 4 greenLEDPercentage ofcharge condi-tionOperationContinuousred lightBattery isalmost emptyCharge batteryRed flashinglightBattery is notready foroperationBring the battery intothe battery operating-temperature range, then chargeOBJ_BUCH-0000000121-001.book Page 18 Friday, May 24, 2013 9:52 AM |
