16 enFor your safety.Read all safety warnings and allinstructions. Failure to follow thewarnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.Do not use this power tool before you have thor-oughly read and completely understood thisInstruction Manual and the enclosed “GeneralSafety Instructions” (document number3 41 30 054 06 1). The documents mentioned should bekept for later use and enclosed with the power tool, should it be passed on or sold. Please also observe the relevant national industrial safetyregulations.Intended use of the power tool:Hand-held screwdriver for screwing in and unscrewingscrews and nuts in weather-protected environmentswithout water supply using the application tools andaccessories recommended by FEIN.Special safety instructions.Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, whenperforming an operation where the fastener may contacthidden wiring or its own cord. Fasteners contacting a“live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the powertool “live”" and could give the operator an electric shock.Beware of any concealed electric cables, gas or waterconduits; check the working area with a metal detector, for example, before commencing work.Secure the workpiece firmly. A work piece that is grippedtightly in a clamping device or vice, is more secure than ifheld by hand.Hold the power tool firmly. High reaction torque canbriefly occur.Do not machine any material containing asbestos. Asbes-tos is cancerogenic.Do not rivet or screw any name-plates or signs onto thepower tool. If the insulation is damaged, protectionagainst an electric shock will be ineffective. Adhesivelabels are recommended.Do not use accessories which are not specificallydesigned and recommended by the power tool manufac-turer. Safe operation is not ensured merely because anaccessory fits your power tool.Clean the ventilation openings on the power tool at regu-lar intervals using non-metal tools. The blower of themotor draws dust into the housing. An excessive accu-mulation of metallic dust can cause an electrical hazard. Before putting into operation, check the mains connec-tion and the mains plug for damage.Recommendation: The tool should always be suppliedwith power via a residual current device (RCD) with arated current of 30 mA or less.Hand/arm vibrationsThe vibration emission level given in this informationsheet has been measured in accordance with a standard-ised test given in EN 60745 and may be used to compareone tool with another. It may be used for a preliminaryassessment of exposure. The declared vibration emission level represents themain applications of the tool. However if the tool is usedfor different applications, with different accessories orpoorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ. This may significantly increase the exposure level overthe total working period. An estimation of the level of exposure to vibrationshould also take into account the times when the tool isswitched off or when it is running but not actually doingthe job. This may significantly reduce the exposure levelover the total working period.Identify additional safety measures to protect the opera-tor from the effects of vibration such as: maintain the tooland the accessories, keep the hands warm, organisationof work patterns.Operating instructions.Adjust the Rotation selector switch only when themachine is at a complete stop. For reliable working results, always carry out screwdriv-ing operations using the depth stop.SCU7-9: Use the auxiliary handle when working with thetorque level “Fix” (rigid through-drive), as torques inexcess of 28 Nm can develop. Do not use the depth stop.Setting the torque (see page 6 –7)The factory setting is for the small to mid-size screwrange. The tightening torque also depends on the force withwhich the power tool is pressed against the screw.Repair and customer service. When working metal under extreme operat-ing conditions, it is possible for conductivedust to settle in the interior of the power tool. The total insulation of the power tool can be impaired.Blow out the interior of the power tool via the ventila-tion slots frequently with dry and oil-free compressed air,and connect a residual current device (RCD) on the lineside.m/s 2 m/s 2 Vibrational emission value according to EN 60745(vector sum of three directions)h m/s 2 m/s 2 Vibrational emission value (screwdriving)m, s, kg, A, mm, V,W, Hz, N, °C, dB,min, m/s 2m, s, kg, A, mm, V,W, Hz, N, °C, dB,min, m/s 2Basic and derived units of measure from the inter-national system of units SI.Character Unit of measure, internationalUnit of measure,nationalExplanationWARNINGOBJ_BUCH-0000000030-001.book Page 16 Tuesday, April 19, 2011 1:13 PM |
