Instrumentation GDD inc. 2017-08-21 33 Readings interpretation.1 HF/COND DistinctionIn the case of conductive sulphides: The HF response provides an indication of sulphides quantity. TheConductivity (Mhos/m) provides an indication of sulphides quality. The conductivity of a small and alarge aluminium foil will be similar but the HF response will increase with the size of the aluminiumsurface..2 Results SignificationHF RESPONSE: the number in this window represents the value of the HF response.SCPT 0.001 Magnetic Susceptibility: the number in this window represents the value of the magneticsusceptibility.COND MHOS/M Calculated Conductivity: it is important to note that in the presence of magnetite inthe sample, the MPP3wifi probe may overestimate the conductivity value. In addition, the « > » signappearing before conductivity value indicates that real conductivity is higher than 999999 S/m. It isrecommended to repeat the measurements at those locations after reinitializing to make sure thesereadings are reliable..3 Sample Shape and DistanceThe measured values could depend on the shape of the sample. For an equivalent content ofconductive/magnetic ore, the response will increase with an increasing surface of contact. In thesame way, the response will decrease with an increasing distance between the probe and the sample, the probe has to be in contact with the sample.
