The Performance Air-Flow System is designed tomaximize temperature control in the refrigeratorand freezer compartments. This unique specialfeature consists of the Air Tower along the backwall of the refrigerator and the Air Tunnel on thebottom portion of the freezer rear wall. Placingfood in front of the louvers on these componentswill not affect performance. Although the AirTower and the Air Tunnel can be removed, doingso will affect temperature performance. (Forremoval instructions, on-line, contact us at ge.comorcall 800.GE.CARES. In Canada, contact us atgeappliances.ca or call 1.800.561.3344.)TurboCool rapidly cools the refrigeratorcompartment in order to more quickly cool foods.Use TurboCool when adding a large amountof food to the refrigerator compartment, puttingaway foods after they have been sitting out atroom temperature or when putting away warmleftovers. It can also be used if the refrigerator hasbeen without power for an extended period.Once activated, the compressor will turn onimmediately and the fans will cycle on andoff at high speed as needed for eight hours. The compressor will continue to run until therefrigerator compartment cools to approximately34°F (1°C), then it will cycle on and off to maintainthis setting. After 8 hours, or if TurboCool ispressed again, the refrigerator compartmentwill return to the original setting. How to UsePress TurboCool. The TurboCool temperaturedisplay will show Tc and the LED will be activated. After TurboCool is complete, the TurboCoolindicator light will go out.NOTES: The refrigerator temperature cannot bechanged during TurboCool. The freezer temperature is not affectedduring TurboCool. When opening the refrigerator doorduring TurboCool, the fans will continueto run if they have cycled on.About the temperature controls.4The temperature controls are preset in the factory at 37°F for the refrigerator compartment and 0°F for thefreezer compartment. Allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize to the preset recommended settings. The temperature controls can display both the SET temperature as well as the actual temperature in therefrigerator and freezer. The actual temperature may vary slightly from the SET temperature based onusage and operating environment. On some models, setting both controls to the warmest setting until the display flashes (off) will stopcooling in both the freezer and refrigerator compartments. On other models, setting either control to the warmest setting until the display flashes (off) will stopthe cooling to the freezer and refrigerator. NOTE: Turning the refrigerator off via the controls on the touch panel does not shut off electrical powerto the refrigerator.NOTE: The refrigerator is shipped with protective film covering the temperature controls. If this film wasnot removed during installation, remove it now.About TurboCool.™ (on some models)How it WorksNot all features are on all models.Consumer Support Troubleshooting Tips Operating Instructions Safety InstructionsInstallationInstructionsPerformance Air Flow System
