CONNECTING THE REFRIGERATOR TOTHE HOUSE WATER LINE (cont.)If you are using copper tubing, place acompression nut and ferrule (sleeve) onto theend of the tubing coming from the house coldwater supply.If you are using the GE SmartConnect ™tubing, the nuts are already assembled tothe tubing.If you are using copper tubing, insertthe end of the tubing into the refrigeratorconnection, at the back of the refrigerator, asfar as possible. While holding the tubing,tighten the fitting.If you are using GE SmartConnect ™ tubing,insert the molded end of the tubing into therefrigerator connection, at the back of therefrigerator, and tighten the compression nutuntil it is hand tight. Then tighten oneadditional turn with a wrench. Overtighteningmay cause leaks.Fasten the tubing into the clamp provided tohold it in position.
