If you don’t have a modularjack, call your local phone company to find out howto get one installed.D ESKTOP OR TABLETOP INSTALLATION1. Plug the line cord into the jack in the pocket on the bottomof the phone.2. Run the telephone line cord through the guides on thebottom of the phone.3. Plug the coiled cord into the handset. Plug the other endinto the jack on the lower end of the base.4. Slide the RINGER switch (on top of the base) to thedesired volume.5. Set the volume switch (on the side of the handset) to thedesired listening volume.6. Plug the telephone line cord into the jack in the pocket on thebottom of the phone.2. Stuff the excess line cord into the pocket.NOTE: For best results, we suggest using a short linecord (not included), available from most electronicsspecialty stores.3. Plug the other end of the line cord in the wall jack.4. Plug the coiled cord into the handset. Plug the other end intothe jack on the lower end of the base.5. Slip the mounting holes on the bottom of the telephone overthe wall plate posts and slide the base down until the phoneis firmly in place. (Wall plate is not included.)6. Set the volume switch (on the side of the handset) to thedesired listening volume.7. Slide the RINGER switch (on top of the base) to the desiredringer volume.TELEPHONE OPERATIONR EDIALThis unit redials up to 32 digits. To automatically redial the lastnumber you called:1. Pick up the handset to get a dial tone.2. Press redial.FLASHPress the flash button instead of the hook switch to activatecustom calling services such as call waiting or call transfer.Custom calling services are provided by the phone company.M EMORYEach of the memory buttons is capable of storing phonenumbers that are up to 16 digits. Memory locations 0-9 requireyou to press mem dial for access.STORING A N UMBER IN MEMORY1. Pick up the handset.2. Press the store button.3. Dial the number to be stored (up to 16 digits).4. Press store again.5. Press a memory location button 0-9.6. Hang up the handset.7. Write the name or number of party stored in each memorylocation on the label provided with this telephone.INSERTING A PAUSE IN THE D IALING S EQUENCEUse the redial button to add pauses to a dialing sequence, forexample after you dial 9 for an outside line. A pause isapproximately 4 seconds long.CHANGING A S TORED N UMBERTo change a stored number, you just replace it with a differentnumber using the procedure for storing a number.DIALING A STORED N UMBER1. Pick up the handset, and wait for a dial tone.2. For numbers stored at memory locations 0-9, press mem dialand then number of the location in which the desired numberis stored.NOTE: Stored numbers are saved using the telephoneline power cord. If you disconnect the line cord fromthe modular phone (wall) jack, the numbers stored inmemory are lost.DELETING A STORED NUMBER FROM MEMORY1. Press the store button.2. Press the redial button.3.
