Using the flashThere are six flash modes. Press the Left/Flash to cycle through the following flashmodes.• Auto flashFlash fires automatically when required.• Red-eye reduction flashThe camera fires a brief flash before thepicture is taken to reduce red-eye effects.• Forced flashFlash always fires.• Flash offFlash is turned off.• Slow SynchroThis allows you to take pictures of peopleat night that clearly show both yoursubjects and the night time backdrop.• Red-Eye Reduction+Slow SynchroUse this mode for slow synchro shotswith red-eye reduction.Using the self-timerTo enable the self-timer function, press theDown/Self-timer to select 2-second timerdelay, 10-second timer delay, or a continuousshot.• 2-second timer delayA single picture is shot 2 seconds afterthe shutter button is pressed.• 10-second timer delayA single picture is shot 10 seconds afterthe shutter button is pressed.• Continuous shotPictures are shot continuously when theshutter button is pressed based on theContinuous Shot settings in the menu.(See “Continuous Shot” on page 57).
