17 ADJUST BROILAND OVEN BURNERAIRADJUSTMENTSHUTTERSIF NECESSARYAir adjustment shutters for the top and bottomburners regulate the flow of air to the flames. The air adjustment shutter for the top(broil) burner is in the center of the rearwall of the oven. The shutter for the bottom (oven) burner is nearthe back wall behind the storage drawer or thekick panel (depending on the model). Removethe drawer or panel. See the Care and Cleaningsection in this guide. To adjust the flow of air to either burner, loosenthe Phillips head screw and rotate the shuttertoward open or closed position as needed. The flames for the top (broil) burner should besteady with approximately 1" blue cones and shouldnot extend out over the edges of the burner baffle. To determine if the bottom burner flames areburning properly, remove the oven bottom and theburner baffle [on some models (see below)].Flames should have approximately 1" blue conesand, if range is supplied with natural gas, shouldburn with no yellow tipping. (With most LIP gas, small yellow tips at the end of outer cones arenormal.) Flames should not lift off burner ports. Iflifting is observed, gradually reduce air shutteropening until flames are stabilized. With the bafflein place, the flames should burn steady and shouldnot extend past the edges of the burner baffle.III_\ /To remove the oven bottom:1. Remove the knurled screws holding down rearof the oven bottom.2. Grasp the oven bottom at finger slots oneach side.3. Lift the rear of the oven bottom enough toclear the lip of the range frame, then pull out.BuroorBa.,o__ 2-.To remove the burner baffle (on somemodels):1.
