(See Control Features.) Thepurpose of the lockout valve is to shut off the gassupply to the surface burners when this feature isselected.Note: The cooktop is locked out when the oven is inself-clean mode. (See Control Features.)The lockout valve will not operate if a surface burneris in the on position. The ERC AUX terminal sendspower across the surface burner switches, whenthey are closed, to the motor lockout valve. The gas lockout valve incorporates 2 switches toallow the ERC to know the position of the lockoutvalve. The yellow to orange wires close whenthe valve is open, which allows gas to flow to thecooktop. When the switch opens, the yellow tosilver wires close when the valve is closed. Loss ofthe yellow to orange contact will cause the lockoutmotor to run continuously, and LOC will flash in theERC display. Loss of the yellow to silver wires willcause the lockout motor to run continuously whenLOCKOUT or SELF CLEAN is selected and LOC willflash in the display. LOC will display steady whenthe cooktop is locked out.ERC
