The cover will open during thewash cycle.Filling the Detergent DispenserGE recommends using detergent in tablet or packet form.Independent testing has shown this form of detergent isvery effective in the dishwasher. Cascade ® PlatinumPacs are an example of this type of detergent. Simplyput a tablet or packet into the main wash compartmentand slide to close the detergent cup cover. Please noticethat the tablet or packet must be placed in the mainwash compartment of the detergent cup. If the tablet orpacket is placed in the prewash compartment or tossedin the bottom of the dishwasher, the detergent will beflushed down the drain in a very short period of time andwill thus be wasted. Wash performance will be very pooras a result. If you choose to use detergent in powder, liquid or gelform, the amount of detergent you use will be determinedby the hardness of your water, the temperature of yourwater, and the food soil load inside the dishwasher.Contact your water company to get information aboutthe hardness of the water in your area. Show anyone who may use the dishwasher thecorrect detergent and where it is stored. While there will be no lasting damage to the dishwasher, yourdishes will not get clean using a dishwashing detergent that isnot formulated for automatic dishwashers.Detergent DispenserNumber ofGrains/Gal.
