WHEN NOT USING YOUR DRYER Grasp the plug firmly when disconnecting thisappliance to avoid damage to the cord whilepulling. Place the cord away from traffic areasso it will not be stepped on, tripped over orsubjected to damage. Do not attempt to repair or replace any part ofthis appliance or attempt any servicing unlessspecifically recommended in this Owner’s Manualor in published user-repair instructions that youunderstand and have the skills to carry out. Before discarding a dryer, or removing itfrom service, remove the dryer door to preventchildren from hiding inside. Do not tamper with controls. Never attempt to operate this appliance ifit is damaged, malfunctioning, partiallydisassembled, or has missing or broken parts,including a damaged cord or plug. The interior of the machine and the exhaust ductconnection inside the dryer should be cleaned atleast once a year by a qualified technician. See theLoading and Using the Dryer section. If yours is a gas dryer, it is equipped with anautomatic electric ignition and does not have apilot light. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIGHT WITH AMATCH. Burns may result from having your handin the vicinity of the burner when the automaticignition turns on. You may wish to soften your laundered fabricsor reduce the static electricity in them by usinga dryer-applied fabric softener or an anti-staticconditioner. We recommend you use either afabric softener in the wash cycle, according tothe manufacturer’s instructions for thoseproducts, or try a dryer-added product forwhich the manufacturer gives written assuranceon the package that their product can be safelyused in your dryer.
